WHAT: Self-service Evening Dress Flea Market!
WHERE: Neukkari (at Bola)
WHEN: Sale days Feb 4 & Feb 5 from 10 AM to 4 PM. You can bring dresses in starting Jan 30.
FOR WHO: People attending the Annual Ball (vujut) or otherwise wanting to buy or sell a fancy dress
WHY: Sellers get money, buyers get gorgeous dresses, and the environment thanks us!

Are you looking for a evening dress for the Annual Ball (vujut) but don’t want to buy a brand new one? Do you have a usable dress hanging in your closet that you’d like to get rid of easily? We now have a handy solution for all of this: Boomi’s new Dress Flea Market!

Read briefly below how it works. More detailed rules can be found at the end!

For the Seller: Bring the dress you want to sell (in good condition) to the person on duty in Bola starting Jan 30, or bring it directly to the flea market. Fill out the electronic form and attach a tag to the dress with the requested info. The dress will be stored and set out for display by the organizers on the market day. During the market, organizers will watch over the dresses and the fittings, so you can leave your dress there without worry. If a suitable buyer is found, they can pay the price via MobilePay and take the dress immediately!

For the Buyer: Pop by Neukkari on Wednesday or Thursday between 10 AM and 4 PM to admire the dresses on sale. You can try them on in the sauna dressing room, and organizers will be there to lend a helping hand. If you find the perfect dress, pay the requested price to the seller and take the dress with you right away!

Note! Boomi or the Annual Ball Committee (vujuTMK) will not compensate for potential misuse, lost, or damaged dresses. Let’s respect other people’s property and the market rules. Let’s make more responsible choices together!

Detailed instructions and rules for the Flea Market:

If you participate in the Dress Flea Market as a buyer or a seller, you agree to the following rules.

Seller:

  1. Ensure that you only bring usable and clean dresses or accessories. Consider any potential wear or flaws when setting your price.
  2. Bring the dress on a hanger to the Bola person on duty starting Jan 30 at the earliest, and fill out the sales form immediately via the QR code. The form is your backup in case the paper tag gets lost.
  3. Make sure a tag is attached to the dress/hanger containing the following info: Your name, phone number, basic info, and price. Note that you commit to selling the dress at the price you marked.
    • E.g.: Maija Meikäläinen, 04412345, dark blue strapless dress, XS, 35€.
  4. Wait for the money to arrive on MobilePay or for the buyer to contact you.
  5. If the dress sells, that’s it!
  6. If no one buys your dress, pick it up from the Bola person on duty by Feb 13. If you do not pick up your dress by the deadline, it becomes Boomi’s property.

Buyer:

  1. Come to Neukkari to look at the dresses on Feb 4–5 between 10 AM and 4 PM.
  2. If you wish, you can fit the dresses in the sauna dressing room. Let the organizer know if you are going to try something on and ask for help if needed.
  3. Handle the dresses with care and please don’t be a stinky! Return the dress neatly to its place if you don’t buy it.
  4. If you want to buy a dress, send the agreed price to the seller via MobilePay and let the organizer know. If you want to ask for more info, please contact the seller directly.
  5. It is not possible to reserve dresses. They are up for grabs for all Boomari members at the asking price.

Boomi or vujuTMK is not responsible for misuse, nor will they compensate for potentially lost or damaged dresses! However, someone is always present to watch over the dresses and fittings, so let’s hope no issues arise.
