BOARD APPLICATIONS 2025

BOARD APPLICATIONS 2025

Here are our 16 board applications for year 2026. You should get to know our candidates by reading their applications below before the autumn meeting.

Board of 2026 will be chosen at the autumn meeting that is held 24th of November. Every member of Boomi has one vote. Note that the autumn meeting is held in Finnish.

CHAIR OF THE BOARD (one application)

Essi Sarvilinna

Hi again, Boomi ry!

I am Essi, a fifth-year boomari and I hope you will place your trust in me for the position
of chairperson. I also applied for the same position last year, and although losing was
obviously not very fun, things turned out very well in the end. I got to spend a wonderful
year as chair of the strategy committee and, above all, I had time to relax and do a little
work and study between board terms. However, my dream of becoming chair did not
fade away during this time.

Being active in Boomi is a hobby that is dear to me. I have been involved in various
teams and positions since my freshman year and have gained many new skills,
unforgettable experiences, and dear friends. I have also found an interest in task forces
and various administrative tasks, which particularly appeal to me in the role of
chairperson. As chair, I would particularly like to focus on ensuring that as many
members as possible get similar experiences from Boomi, find new interests, and that
Boomi as a whole is as attractive and engaging an organization as possible. During the
strategy creation process, the committee and I have sought to examine our activities in
terms of how well Boomi serves its members and how rewarding participation in
different activities is. At the heart of the new strategy is the idea that the Boomi
community and the experiences it enables can be enjoyed now and long into the future.
Next year, I consider it particularly important to ensure that these goals do not remain
mere ideas.

Such a large organization cannot be perfect for everyone, but we can go a long way if
everyone strives to leave their successors in a better position than when they started.
As chair, I want to ensure that everyone receives adequate training and that I am a
familiar and safe person for every active member of Boomi to turn to with questions,
problems, and ideas throughout the year. I want to ensure that no one feels exhausted
or stuck, and if that happens, fixing the problem will be at the top of my priority list. By
listening to members we can make Boomi’s activities more attractive and less
burdensome, leaving everyone more space and time to implement their own ideas.
I want to maintain an operating environment where you can learn by doing, and where
you don’t have to do something just because that’s how it’s always been done. The work
can be time-consuming and challenging at times, but first and foremost, it must bring
with it many opportunities for growth, learning, and fun.

VICE CHAIR (one application)

Elisa Sinkkonen

Hello boomaris! I am Elisa, a third-year boomari, and I am applying for the position of vice
chairperson of Boomi for 2026. Boomi has been an important part of my student life and a
community where I have been able to grow, learn, and make a difference. Now I would like to
give back to this community that has given me so much during the past years. The position of
vice chairperson appeals to me because it combines supporting people and administrative
responsibility, two things that I consider to be my strengths.

For me, being vice chairperson means above all, ensuring that everyday life runs smoothly
and that everyone is doing well. I want to be approachable and a reliable source of support for
the board, the staff, and every single boomari. I want to follow on Jerry’s footsteps and make
this role as a steady part of Boomi’s boards in the future as well. As vice chairperson, I would
focus particularly on the community spirit of Boomi, regular feedback practices, lowthreshold opportunities for discussion, and small but meaningful everyday acts of well-being.

I consider my strengths to be organizational skills, systematic thinking, and responsibility. I
am used to managing several projects at the same time and keeping even large entities
together. In 2025, I served as Boomi’s travel official, organizing the Swedish Excursion, while
also being at the annual ball committee. Various tasks, such as managing the membership
register, maintaining information management, and organizing orders, are not just routine
tasks for me, but also a way to ensure that the community runs as smoothly as possible. I am
meticulous and detail-oriented, but at the same time I am able to see the big picture and
prioritize when schedules get tight.

I see the role of vice chairperson as a kind of link between the board and the officials,
between everyday life and strategy, and between individuals and the community. I want to be
the person who ensures that things do not only happen, but that they happen well and with a
good vibe. I believe that my empathetic, firm, and systematic approach is a perfect fit for this
role.

Boomi is a community that grows, changes, and develops alongside its members. I would like
to be involved in ensuring that this growth happens in an inspiring way and together. That is
why I am applying to be the vice chairperson of Boomi ry for 2026.
Elisa Sinkkonen

TREASURER (three applications)

Severi Mäenpää

Hi! I’m Severi, a second-year student applying for the position of Head of Finances in the 2026
Board. My experience within Boomi includes working in Royal Staff as the second ticket sales
representative, as well as tutoring in the fall of 2025. My involvement in Royal Staff sparked my
interest in applying for the board and continuing my active role in Boomi.

It has been clear to me for a long time that the Head of Finances’ position genuinely interests me.
I’m particularly drawn to the comprehensive management of Boomi’s finances and promoting its
smooth operation. In addition, I look forward to being involved in the organization’s activities and,
if selected, learning more about the administrative side of things.

Boomi organizes a wide range of activities thanks to its active members. Therefore, it’s essential
that the organization’s finances operate as agreed and without issues in the background of it all. I
also believe it’s very important that the organization’s funds are used responsibly and fairly, in a
way that benefits all members equally.

The most important qualities for the Head of Finances are teamwork skills, reliability, and
organizational skills. The role involves extensive collaboration both within the student organization
and with external partners. For that reason, it’s important to manage communication and
cooperation with many different stakeholders while keeping everything clear and well-organized.
Reliability and systematic work form the necessary foundation for effective teamwork, which I aim
to promote through my actions. In addition, I would like to contribute to developing the finance
team’s responsibilities, which, based on my inquiries, could benefit from greater diversity.

Why should I be chosen as the next Head of Finances? I believe I’m well suited for the role and
would especially like to highlight my strengths in teamwork and organizational skills. I would
thrive working closely with different members within the organization and supporting the rest of the
board in various situations. I’m genuinely interested in financial management, and I consider my
strong interest in accounting to be an advantage for this position. As the Head of Finances, my main
goal would be to perform my duties smoothly, allowing others to focus on their own roles while
keeping the financial operations running efficiently in the background.
I hope to see as many of you as possible at the autumn meeting!
Severi Mäenpää

Luukas Kumpula

Moro! My name is Luukas and I am applying for the position of Head of Finances.

When I started my studies last year I had not given one thought about applying to a team or a club and wouldn’t have believed I’d apply to the board next year. However, the Smurf Weeks were so amazing that they made me interested in all kinds of ways I could participate in this student organization. I got my first taste of organizing a party from working in the Jaararace team, which got me totally hooked. I have since been active in Rottakopla and as a tutor.

I became interested in applying for the position of Head of Finances already in the Smurf autumn, but I decided to let the thought simmer for a year. Over the past year, I have been able to accumulate expertise through my classes and by working as a bookkeeper. During this time, the idea of applying for the board matured into a decision, and I now feel ready to fill the boots of the Head of Finances.

The duties of the Head of Finances include the management of statutory obligations and day-to-day financial matters and, above all, ensuring the rational use of common funds and the continuity of operations. The position requires substantive expertise and good cooperation skills to make working with other actors smooth. My strengths include both of these, and that’s why I feel I have a lot to give to the position of financial manager.

By chatting with the current and previous holders of this position, I have realized that tasks related to finances are done very well at Boomi. However, there could be some room for improvement in the operations of the finance team. I would reduce the composition of the finance team to two people and try to make the role of the finance team more versatile than before. Still, the most important thing is to keep the execution of financial tasks at an excellent level, and I know I can do that.

See you at the autumn meeting!

Amalia Mykkänen

Hi!
My name is Amalia, I am a second-year student, and I would like to become Boomi’s next
Treasurer. My interest in our student organization began already during my first year, and I’ve
since gained many rewarding experiences and insights, for example through working in the
corporate relations committee and as a tutor. My desire to take a more active role in
developing our organization for the benefit of our students has grown, and I believe that
joining the board would be an excellent opportunity to do so, by taking on more responsibility
and making use of my strengths.

I am particularly interested in the Treasurer position because I enjoy financial management
and organization. I like when numbers form a logical and clear whole that supports practical
operations. Through my accounting studies, I’ve gained basic knowledge of accounting,
budgeting, and reporting, and I’m eager to apply and further develop these skills in practice
for the benefit of our organization.

I am organized, precise, and responsible, and I like to make sure things are handled carefully
and systematically. Responsibility plays a key role in board work, and I’m not afraid to take on
large entities or represent our organization in different situations. I also value collaboration,
which is especially important in a board where common goals are best achieved through
open communication and mutual support. In this position, I would aim to be an encouraging
team player and to create a reliable atmosphere where working together feels smooth and
motivating.

As Treasurer, I would be interested in learning from my predecessor about possible areas for
development and working to improve them further. I believe that long-term and well-planned
work ensures the financial stability of our organization and also lays the foundation for future
renewal. Financial management is not only about numbers but also about reliable
cooperation. I would like to emphasize transparency and clear communication to make
decision-making smoother and collaboration more efficient. It would be great to work
together with other board members and committees to ensure that projects and partnerships
are implemented in a financially sound and sustainable way across all sectors.

I believe that my sense of organization, motivation to learn new things, and social nature
would make me a good Treasurer.

HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS (two applications)

Malla-Noora Myyry

Hi! I’m Malla Myyry, a second-year student applying for the role of Head of Communications
for Boomi in 2026.

I started building my Boomi CV already in my freshman year, and it now includes roles in
Kiskostaff, Jäärärace, vujustaff, NESU-vujustaff, as well as Rottakopla and Tukiopiskelijat. My
journey in student organizations began six years ago, and I believe I have a lot to offer to our
beloved Boomi.

With ten years of experience and freelance projects in digital art, I’ve gained practical skills in
communications. Working with graphics has taught me to use design software professionally.
I’ve created visuals and overall patches for events, so my creativity has already been put to use
within Boomi. I’m a skilled contributor whose talents would benefit our organizational
communications.

The Head of Communications must ensure interaction between members and external
stakeholders, and I have ideas on how to develop our communications under my leadership. I
especially want to focus on Boomi’s internal communication, which I first encountered in
committee work. I’d like to develop Teams into a platform that supports communication across
all Boomi sectors and enables committees and clubs to actively participate. Organizing
communication training would ensure our members have the skills to share their activities
effectively.

Developing the media team would also be a central focus of my board year. The current graphic
request form allows ordering visuals, but doesn’t support interaction between the requester
and designer. By renewing the model, we could foster creativity between active members. I
want to lower the threshold for ordering graphics so committees can carry out as many
projects as possible throughout the year.

I also see great potential in Boomi’s social media platforms. Telegram should remain the main
channel for member communication, but increasing engagement on Instagram and TikTok
could open new opportunities for interaction and visibility.

So why choose me as Head of Communications? I’m bold and determined, and I want to make
Boomi’s communications more open and accessible, both to external stakeholders and to you,
fellow students. I have the experience and skills to step into the role. I want to leave my mark
on Boomi’s history, and I ask for your trust in electing me for the communications role in 2026.
See you at the autumn meeting! <3
Malla Myyry

Ethel Alamäki

I’m Ethel, a second-year student and I’m applying for the Head of Communications –
position on Boomi’s board. I’ve always been a very visual and creative person, the
influencer of my own life, so managing Boomi’s social media channels would come
quite naturally to me.

I feel like I have a lot to give to our student organization. My mind is constantly
overflowing with new ideas about what fun things we could post and how Boomi’s
communication could be improved. One area that has been on my mind is Boomi’s
TikTok, which would be amazing to activate and highlight, because I personally think
we are falling behind compared to other student organizations. My friends and I have
actually filmed one Rexcu-themed TikTok for it!

I think it’s really important that every Boomi member knows what, when and where
things happen. Unfortunately, important announcements sometimes get drowned out
in the flood of Telegram messages, which can make building community very difficult
– especially if sign-ups and ticket sales slip by unnoticed. If I were on the board, I’d
like to tackle this by making communication clearer and more centralized.

I have experience with almost all major social media platforms as well as various
photo editing softwares and design tools (such as Canva, Gimp, Inkscape etc.)
which would definitely come in handy in the communications role. I’ve also managed
a company’s Instagram at my previous job.

I’m social, cooperative, and I get along well with all kinds of people. I believe I could
bring in good energy, fresh ideas, and get things done on time and responsibly.
Hope to see you on the new board term!

HEAD OF PREMISES (two applications)

Kimi Alaspää

Hello!

My name is Kimi Alaspää, a second-year boomari, and I’m applying for the position of Head of Premises in Boomi’s board. This role especially interests me because it offers a concrete opportunity to shape the environment in which Boomi operates. Through my experience as a tutor, I’ve gained valuable insight into the organization’s daily life and operation, and I now want to help enable that experience for others by ensuring our facilities are functional, comfortable, and continuously improving.

I’m confident in my ability to handle the practical maintenance of Boomi’s facilities. I’m familiar with tools like a hammer, drill, and measuring tape, and the saying “what the measure misses, the trim covers” rings true to me. I have hands-on experience from various building projects, both at cottages and private homes. Maintaining our spaces isn’t just about handiwork—it also requires collaboration and good judgment. Daily operations must run smoothly in cooperation with the premises team, the board, and other active members. While I don’t know everything yet, I’m eager to learn and grow in the role, with the goal of making our spaces functional and enjoyable for all boomaris.

Boomi’s facilities are exceptionally good, and their location next to the university makes them especially valuable. Their quality is the result of years of dedicated work by active members. As Head of Premises, I want to ensure that the spaces remain in great condition and continue to evolve. Smooth rental operations are essential, as the income they generate enables further development and supports Boomi’s broader activities. One concrete improvement idea is modernizing Bola’s lighting: switching to LEDs would improve energy efficiency and could allow for lighting to be better adjusted to different situations. Additionally, the rental system could be improved so that previous bookings are clearly visible to new users, which would make booking easier.

Applying for the board is not a spur-of-the-moment decision, but a carefully considered step backed by a genuine desire to contribute to Boomi. I’m ready to dedicate all the time, energy, and thought this position requires—and more. Our facilities are more than just walls; they are the heart of our community, and I want to work to make them even better.

Hope to see you at Boomi’s annual fall general meeting!

Kimi Alaspää

Joonas Tanner

Hello Boomaris!

My name is Joonas, I’m 27 years old, a fifth-year boomari, and I’m applying for the position of facilities manager on Boomi’s board for 2026!

I have long wanted to take an active role in our student organization, and I feel that serving on the board is the most natural way to influence Boomi’s activities. I started considering the role of facilities manager last winter, and my interest has only grown over the past year. Based on my strengths and experience, this role feels like the most natural fit for me, and my discussions with the current facilities manager over the autumn have further reinforced my feeling of wanting to take on the task.

Although I am already in my fifth year at Boomi, my Boomi CV is short: I have been a tutor this autumn and was part of the (Varjo)appro staff during my first year. However, I have had the opportunity to follow and get to know Boomi’s activities through events, as well as discussed Boomi-related matters multiple times with more active friends and acquaintances, e.g. matters relating to working on the board. I have heard both the good and the bad, so I understand what I would be taking on.

Outside of Boomi, I have gained a lot of useful experience, especially relevant to working as the facilities manager. I have worked for over a year at two different factories in production roles and for about a year in a warehouse. In my free time, I’m also handy with tools. Whether it’s projects at mökki or bike repairs, “hands-on work” is familiar to me. This is why I believe I could help reduce costs related to Boomi’s facilities.

From my perspective, there is no immediate need for major changes or renovations to our facilities – we just completed renovations of the sauna and the club this spring. Rental prices for the premises have also been increased this year, so I don’t see this as a current concern, although it’s worth taking a look at when taking on the role. Regarding facility rentals, I have thought about ways to increase usage, for example by improving advertising or renting out spaces more to student organizations, even though I don’t yet have concrete proposals for implementing these ideas.

All in all, we have exceptionally great members and culture at Boomi, and it would be amazing to contribute to strengthening it.

See you in syko <3

— Joonas

PROJECT MANAGER 1 (two applications)

Otto Ahonen

Hi! I’m Otto, a third-year Boomi student, and I’m applying for the role of Project
Manager for Hämeenkadun Appro 2026! Just 1–2 months ago, I was preparing to go on
an exchange next spring (I even had a place confirmed) but over the autumn the idea of
leading the biggest and most iconic student event in Finland has become such an
inspiring and motivating goal that I decided to apply for this position and cancel the
exchange if the Fall Meeting places me in this role! Alongside my strong passion for
event production, I’m also motivated by the fact that Boomi has given me unforgettable
experiences and a unique community, and I want to give back to this community in
return.

This year at Royal, I succeeded in managing and organising a large-scale whole:
Keskustori ran smoothly without issues and the event day was a great success,
especially considering the fast pace, the many moving parts and leading a large staff.
I’ve also gained committee experience as Corporate Relations Lead in the KiskoFest
team, and my diverse background in different committees and projects will certainly be
an asset. My work experience as a sales team leader has also provided valuable
leadership skills for running a committee. From working life, I would bring practices
such as agreeing together with the committee on ways of working and the kind of
culture we want to build for Royal, as shared ground rules strengthen commitment –
which is particularly important in volunteer-based committee work when studies and
summer jobs sometimes take priority.

For Appro, my main focus would be increasing the number of participants by adding
one more afterparty venue. From a brand perspective, it’s crucial to maintain our
position as Finland’s biggest and most iconic event. Increasing ticket revenue also
ensures that the financial result stays strong or even improves, so that the profits can
continue to benefit Boomi’s members. I would also change the completion time to end
at 22:00 for all participants, as currently Doctor and Emeritus levels have been allowed
until 23:00. Based on feedback, the extended hours are not worthwhile for the
checkpoints since only 5.9% of participants are on Doctor or Emeritus level, and the
extra hour also significantly slows down tear-down at Keskustori.
My diverse experience from two project teams and working life, strengths in leadership
and managing complex entities, combined with high motivation and commitment to
board responsibilities, provide a strong foundation for stepping into the Project
Manager role!

See you at the Fall Meeting!

Unna Kärkkäinen

Hi Boomi ry!

I’m Unna Kärkkäinen, and I’m applying for Project Manager 1 to be responsible for the Hämeenkadun
Appro in 2026. Working as Royal Staff’s ticket manager this past year gave me a front-row view of Boomi’s
projects and sparked my desire to develop especially Appro’s operations.

As a second-year Boomare, I’ve tutored smurfs and exchange students and worked on the annual celebration
staff, developing my teamwork and time management skills. As a project manager, my strengths include my
organizational skills and the ability to engage with people attentively with genuine interest.

Hämeenkadun Appro was a great success this year, uniting students from across Finland, and the concept is
not meant to be turned upside down. The goal is to ensure high-quality continuity by attracting visitors,
quality collaborators, and future Appro organizers year after year.

Next year, Approcrawl should continue to develop into a more versatile experience and add attractive
activities as official venues. Agreements and instructions for stamp points need updating, and the execution
schedule concept should be clarified. Communication must be smooth and comprehensive for all
stakeholders. The Nokia Arena contract ends next year requiring the project manager to be decisive at new
negotiations. Regarding afterparties, issues, such as cloakroom problems, must be addressed, and a diverse
lineup of artists should be maintained.

However, the key part of the role is guiding the project team, as a functional and cohesive team is the
foundation of successful events. Early in the year, I’d focus on team bonding to create an enthusiastic and
safe atmosphere. I value my role in implementing Särkän Märkä, as project managers are a close pair, and
support must be reciprocal. In Appro, I’d ensure thorough onboarding for the team, involve them in
decisions, and balance workloads actively to protect well-being.

In my board role, I aim to keep Boomi fair and appealing, offering unique experiences and lifelong
friendships. For many first-year students, working on Appro is their first working-at-Boomi experience, and
a successful day can encourage them to continue active participation in Boomi.

A successful visitor experience is Appro’s top priority, and the project manager must be bold, adaptable, and
above all, a communicative leader. I am ready to contribute my enthusiasm, skills, and time as a board
member and project manager.

See you at the syko!
Looking forward to next year and Appro,
Unna

PROJECT MANAGER A (one application)

Ronja Tuukkanen

Hi everyone!
I’m Ronja, a third-year student, and I’m applying for the position of project manager A. I’ve had
the chance to be involved in all kinds of Boomi activities, from being part of the annual ball
staff and tutoring new students to working this year as one of the marketing managers in the
Royal Staff. Through these experiences, I feel I still have a lot to give, and organizing Särkän
Märkä would be the perfect next step.

This past year in Royal was unforgettable and sparked a strong motivation to leave my own
mark on next year’s Särkän Märkä. Working as a marketing manager gave me a clear
understanding of how the event is organized and how its different parts come together. Over
the year, I developed my organizational skills and learned how to keep things progressing even
under pressure. That same organized approach and drive will support me well in the project
manager role.

As Särkän Märkä enters its second decade, it has become a central part of Tampere’s student
May Day celebrations. This year, the event evolved on many fronts, and I want to continue that
progress by focusing on improving the visitor experience. I’d especially invest in additional
activities, as they enhance the atmosphere and reduce queues. The interdisciplinary staff
model introduced this year proved to be an excellent idea, and I’d like to keep developing it
further.

I see great potential in corporate collaboration. Creative partner stands can bring more
content and value to both visitors and sponsors. As costs rise, it’s important to ensure that
Särkän Märkä remains cost-effective and student-friendly. Open cooperation with
Särkänniemi will help enhance service eBiciency and overall value.

EBective teamwork forms the foundation for a successful project year. Project managers work
as a close pair, and a more balanced division of tasks would help maintain well-being and
focus during the busiest periods. I want to build an open and inspiring atmosphere within the
Royal Staff, emphasizing clear communication and team bonding so that everyone has space
to share ideas, take responsibility, and enjoy working together.

On the Board, I want to strengthen the sense of community and joy that have made these
years so special to me. In the project manager role, my strong organizational and teamwork
skills help keep everything on track and ensure steady progress. I bring precision, open
communication, and positive energy, everything I believe a successful year needs.
See you at syko!

EDUCATIONAL AFFAIRS (one application)

Niko-Petteri Nousiainen

Hi! I’m Niko-Petteri Nousiainen, 2nd year boomari and I’m applying for the position of
educational affairs representative. In Boomi, I have participated in vujusta? (anniversary party
staff), been an active member in BoomInvest and worked as a tutor this autumn. These roles
have sparked my interest in contributing even more to our student organisation. Now I feel
that I am ready to give more time for our student organisation and to its development.

The role of educational affairs representative feels right for me as I’m interested in
educational themes and I want to make them interesting for others as well. I’m eager to learn
new things and have constructive discussions. Conversations with the current educational
a?airs representative have motivated me to apply for this position. These conversations have
made it clear for me what this position involves. I’ve been interested in this role since my first
year, but this autumn I have become sure that I want to apply to be an educational affairs
representative.

As an educational affairs representative I would aim to make education policy even more
visible. To achieve this I would use surveys, actively share updates and encourage dialogue. I
would also like to organize events where students can ask questions, possibly straight from
the university staff. This could be done by modifying the Kopo and Kyllis night format.

It is worth noticing that when intake amount grew, our student organisation will become larger
every year. It is important to ensure that teaching quality remains high and that the growing
student body is considered in educational planning. A new thing is that the faculty of business
and economics have decided to seek accreditation. While they have enough resources and
will maintain flexibility in studies, it is still important to monitor this process.

As a tutoring representative I would improve tutor instructions to make responsible tutoring
clearer, making it easier for tutor groups to agree on their responsibilities. In general, the
smurf weeks (orientation weeks) works well. It is still important to make sure that all the new
students integrate into new student life from the start. To ensure this, educational tutoring
could be brought up more clearly.
Feel free to talk to me at Bola or on campus. See you at the autumn general meeting!

EVENT MANAGER (one application)

Selina Saarenpää

Hello! I’m Selina Saarenpää, a second-year business student. I became active in Boomi
right from my first year through the annual ball staff. I also was a tutor and most
importantly, I organized events as a member of Rottakopla. Now I am applying for the
position of event coordinator, because I want to develop and maintain the quality of our
events. At the same time, I am ready to take responsibility for other board duties and
support Boomi’s overall operations.

During my year in Rottakopla, I realized how much I enjoy turning events into cohesive
experiences, creating atmosphere on the event day, and coming up with creative and
sometimes a little out-there ideas. What I especially appreciate about Rottakopla — as
well as other committees — is how they help you recognize your own strengths. I see
myself as creative and eager to put ideas into practice, and for example, I successfully
organized Boom’s first-ever Halloween party. I would love to continue developing the
event and strengthen its position as the official afterparty of Jäärärace.

The smurfweeks are one of the most important projects for the event coordinator, as it
gives new business students the opportunity to get to know Boomi and connect with
other students. In my first year, the smurfweeks were an amazing experience, and the
same applied when I worked as a tutor — especially because the tutors’ own teambuilding was organized so well. However, there is still room for improvement, and I
believe that communication — for example regarding the duration of events — could be
further developed.

Another key responsibility of the event coordinator is leading the committee. Next year,
I will have close support from the event official, which will help with sharing the
workload. Like my predecessor, I aim to be approachable and in continuous
communication with Rottakopla. Team-building, public speaking and collaboration are
skills I already feel confident in, and they are essential when leading a team. I would
also like to continue developing my ability to delegate and inspire committee members
to use their strengths and interests when bringing their own ideas to life.

The role of event coordinator requires someone with enough energy, perseverance and
motivation to handle a demanding position. As an energetic and social person, I am
ready to take on this challenge. I believe this year has taught me important skills
regarding prioritization, responsibility and self-recovery. I am ready to put in the work
for Boomi in the upcoming year.

Thank you for reading — see you in Syyskokous <3

CORPORATE RELATIONS (one application)

Tino Brofeldt

Hi! You might know me from this year’s Royal, juhlajaosto or just from being an active
member in general. I knew long before starting my studies that I wanted to study business.
Since getting into Tampere, I haven’t regretted that decision for a second. Our student
organization is wonderfully active, and it suits my personality perfectly. We organize the
most events in Tampere – or maybe even in all of Finland – and for that, we can thank our
active members and the positive attitude we have toward student life. Our employment
prospects after graduation are also excellent, and everyone who has made it into Boomi has
truly earned their place. Our graduates are entrepreneurial and ambitious economists,
exactly the kind of professionals that modern companies need.

Our connections with the business world are strong, thanks in large part to our alumni who
continue to keep in touch with their former student organization. The guest speakers visiting
our lectures represent a wide range of industries and companies, and the company visits we
organize help students and businesses get to know each other. I want to maintain these
relationships and, if possible, create new ones that will benefit our organization during our
studies and after graduation. As areas of development, I would focus on offering a broader
range of company excursions so that everyone can find visits that interest them, as well as
engaging master’s students more actively through company visits and career opportunities.
The numerous excursions I’ve attended, along with my experience in committees and
working with companies, have inspired me to apply for this position and to do my best for
the benefit of everyone. My experience in contacting companies and my strong social skills
make me a great fit for the role.

Of course, being on the board involves much more than just managing one’s own area of
responsibility. Representing Boomi at annual celebrations, events, and even in the eyes of
companies is important, and I know I’m more than capable of doing that well. Being part of
the board is not easy – it sometimes takes a lot of time and commitment. I’ve previously
been willing to dedicate both my studies and free time to supporting our organization, and I
believe I still have more to give. I’m confident that I would perform well in the board and
corporate relations roles, while also developing myself and learning more about our
organization and collaboration with companies.

PARTY MANAGER (one application)

Elsa Husman

Hi Boomi!

I’m Elsa Husman, a second-year student, and I’m applying to be the Party Manager for 2026.
Boomi has been a big part of my student life, and I’ve had the chance to be a part of the Party
Committee and BoomSki and I was also a tutor. These experiences have inspired me to take
the next step in my Boomi journey and help develop our event culture as Party Manager.

Organizing events is truly my passion – I’ve been working in the event industry since I was 16
and have had the chance to plan, execute, and develop a variety of events. In Boomi’s Party
Committee, I’ve been able to apply these skills to student events as well. Over the past year,
our committee has organized diverse pre-parties and fun activities for Haalaribileet, which
have enhanced the attendee experience. Haalaribileet has grown immensely over the past
year, and I want to ensure it remains one of Tampere’s most attractive student parties in the
future.

As Party Manager, I’d like to build on these successes and make Haalaribileet even more
enjoyable and appealing. I want to bring in more elements, such as fun pre-party activities,
raffles, new performers, and interactive programs for attendees. I’m also interested in
developing a new special badge, as this year’s implemented winner badges showed how
much small details can enhance the overall vibe. I also want to further develop last year’s
rebranded HaalariApprot, which I see as having significant growth potential. This event has all
the potential to become an even more visible part of Tampere’s student culture, and I want to
focus on its appeal and strengthen its brand.

Additionally, I’d like to continue working on stabilizing the Party Committee’s operations so
that its work will run even more smoothly and efficiently in the future. My goal is to clarify
committee members’ responsibilities and influence what the Party Committee will be like
going forward.

I’m energetic and approachable by nature. I enjoy teamwork and throw myself fully into
everything I do. I believe that these qualities, combined with my experience and genuine
enthusiasm, make me a suitable candidate for the next Party Manager.
See you at syko,
Elsa <3
