The traditional Practice Kyykkä is back! Are your kyykkä skills a bit rusty? Have you never played kyykkä and want to give it a try? Or maybe you want to start practicing cheering for kyykkä teams? Don’t worry—Staabi, Boomi, and Iltakoulu have got you covered with this joint practice session, especially with the Academic World Championships of Kyykkä just around the corner! The evening will be filled with flying clubs and dramatic kyykkä battles—not to mention sausages provided by Suomen Ekonomit. For cold fingers, hot juice will be served to keep you warm. So, get your throwing arm ready and come to the event to hone your competition skills before the fight for the world championship begins! Players of all skill levels are welcome. All you need to bring is a positive and relaxed sporting spirit!
Wait, what’s kyykkä? In short, kyykkä is an academic power sport where two teams compete against each other. The goal is to knock over kyykkä blocks using a wooden club and score as many points as possible. For more information about the rules of kyykkä, visit: www.kyykka.fi You can bring your own reusable cup or thermos for the hot juice. It’s also recommended to bring a water bottle, as there’s no water source nearby. The event is accessible. The square has no major thresholds, and there is a public accessible toilet on the edge of the market square.
