Ready! Set! GO!! And the teams are off, the race has begun!
Race events are a deeply rooted part of Boomi’s event calendar, and the Smurf Race is perhaps the most cherished. The Smurf Race allows groups to compete against each other for the glory of their class and the whole city of Tampere. This playful competition is one of the most unifying moments of the entire Smurf Weeks, as groups with their tutors navigate through Tampere’s city center, stopping at various fun checkpoints.
The race starts from the beloved and now familiar Klubi 57, where team outfits and race faces will be captured on film. At the same time, the groups will be given a map, after which they can begin their journey. After the checkpoint tour, there will be the traditional Klubi pre-party, where all teams will gather after completing their rounds. The checkpoint tour ends by 21:00, so there will be time to eat, refill from stores, or refine your tactics along the way.
After the pre-party, it’s time to move on to the most iconic student party in Tampere—it’s time for the Haalaribileet! Students from all over Tampere gather at Ilona to party on the first Thursday of every month, and so will we. The festive atmosphere will last until the early morning hours for those who crave it!
